Our Free Online Programs
-
Our Core Tutoring program provides free one-on-one online tutoring & mentoring for NYC school children in grades 1-12 who are in need of additional academic support. Aligned with the NYC Department of Education’s curriculum, our focus is on supporting students to develop reading, math and writing skills while also building confidence.
Online tutoring takes place Monday-Thursday from 3:30pm-8:30pm. Students are matched with volunteer tutors and meet remotely for one hour each week at a mutually agreeable time. Our volunteers are able to help with homework, reading and skill building. We handle the scheduling and provide supplemental skill building material.

In addition to our Core Tutoring program, we also offer math-focused support for our high school students. Just like with Core Tutoring, students and tutors meet online once a week at a mutually agreeable time.
Our Math Lab volunteers have strong backgrounds in mathematics and provide focused assistance in topics such as geometry, algebra, trigonometry & calculus. Students are expected to come to Math Lab with homework or questions for the tutor.
Depending on the availability of volunteers, high school students can participate in both regular Core Tutoring and Math Lab.

Geared towards prospective first-generation college students, our College Bound programs matches high school students with mentors who can assist with making informed choices about college, discuss future goals and guide students through the college application process.
Depending on the availability of our volunteers, high school students can participate in our College Bound program in addition to Core Tutoring and Math Lab.
High-performing students who could benefit solely from a mentor to support them through the college application process can choose to participate only in College Bound.

A continuation of our Core Tutoring program, Summer Scholars offers online tutoring during July and August.
Focused on strengthening skills, our volunteer tutors work to ensure that students are prepared for the fall semester. Extra flexibility during the summer months ensures that both students and volunteer tutors can find time to meet around their summer schedules.
