Strong educational foundations create strong futures. Here at Lumina, we believe that all children deserve equal access to the tools and support needed to succeed. Our free individualized tutoring programs match volunteer tutors with students who need extra academic help to reach their fullest potential. Join us in our commitment to bridging the educational achievement gap and ensuring that all children have the opportunity to thrive academically and personally.

We provide free one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to NYC students in grades 1-12 who are in need of additional academic support. Students are matched with volunteer tutors and meet remotely each week at a mutually agreeable time. Our volunteers are able to help with homework, reading and skill building.

In addition to our core tutoring program, we also offer math-focused support for our High School students. Students and tutors meet remotely once a week at a mutually agreeable time. Our Math Lab volunteers have strong backgrounds in mathematics and provide focused assistance in geometry, algebra, trigonometry, calculus and more.
